Week’s Reads: Ethereal by Addison Moore, Poison Princess by Kresley Cole, Cheyenne by Lisa Weidmeier

Ethereal by Addison Moore Moving to a new town normally sucks, but it is worse if you move into a house where the previous resident was taken and murdered. This book was a very easy read and kept clicking along nicely. Nothing was too hard to follow or distracting. The writing style was nice and easy read. I found myself easily drawn into the tale and wanting to continue to read. I found some of the story overdone- some things in YA seem a bit cliché by now: moving to a new town…mean clique girl cheerleaders… guys so handsome the protag drools over them…not one but two good looking guys….. this book...

Review: Intuition and Indebted by Amy Bartol

Review: Intuition and Indebted by Amy Bartol Review: Intuition and Indebted by Amy Bartol Evie has come to accept that she loves Reed though Russell is her soulmate- Russell is not as accepting. But when push comes to shove again, Evie does everything she can think of to save her friends, including running away with Russell. Unfortunately she is not ready for the world when a group of undead fairies take her and plan to make her into their queen. Russell added another depth to the story. We get to see things from Russell’s point of view. I liked this and he was always my favorite character in the first book. I like him as a character and loved...

NetGalley Review: Alternity by Mari Mancusi

NetGalley Review: Alternity by Mari Mancusi Review: Alternity by Mari Mancusi Is she Skye or is she Mariah? Skye finds herself waking up in a weird underground city only to have no recollections of it. It turns out that everyone else remembers her, but she doesn’t remember this odd world or that she is part of the revolutionaries trying to overthrow it- or is she really? I liked that the main character’s identity didn’t change- she stayed true throughout holding onto that she did not have amnesia. I found it odd that she did not cave in, but by the end you know why. While Skye does win in the end, she does so without killing...

Review: Mind Readers by Lori Brighton, Bound by CK Bryant, Hematite by Stefanie Olar

Review: Mind Readers by Lori Brighton, Bound by CK Bryant, Hematite by Stefanie Olar Review: Mind Readers by Lori Brighton Cameron has hidden her secret her whole life, but everything changes when she meets Lewis. He shares her secret and offers to tech her the truth- but is that what he really wants? This book started off and ended very similarly. It made the book feel complete. This is an excellent example how to craft the beginning and ending to leave a reader happy. In both instances, Cameron is telling the reader about her crappy ability, but the ending is more of a hint to what will come. It worked perfectly. This ending was one of the much better endings I have read that still...
