Week’s Reads: Ethereal by Addison Moore, Poison Princess by Kresley Cole, Cheyenne by Lisa Weidmeier

Ethereal by Addison Moore Moving to a new town normally sucks, but it is worse if you move into a house where the previous resident was taken and murdered. This book was a very easy read and kept clicking along nicely. Nothing was too hard to follow or distracting. The writing style was nice and easy read. I found myself easily drawn into the tale and wanting to continue to read. I found some of the story overdone- some things in YA seem a bit cliché by now: moving to a new town…mean clique girl cheerleaders… guys so handsome the protag drools over them…not one but two good looking guys….. this book...

Week’s Reads: Predestined and Ceaseless by Abbi Glines

Week’s Reads: Predestined and Ceaseless by Abbi Glines Predestined by Abbi Glines Depth! We finally get some more answers.  While I felt like the first book wrapped things up very well and left the reader without any major questions, (beyond the cliffhanger) this book showed that there was so much left unsaid. I didn’t even question any of it in the first book, but here you get answers. It was nice to be filled in on Pagen’s background. That is a great author that can leave you feeling happy with a book but at the same time have so many unanswered questions that you didn’t even know there were. Nice writing. By the end I was left wondering if Leif...

Review: Incendiary by Amy Bartol

Review: Incendiary by Amy Bartol Review: Incendiary by Amy Bartol Evie finally gets to meet her father, and it is not the reunion any father or daughter would like to have. Evie knows him and the two other seraphim that come with him. Evie is still fighting to keep away from Brennus, but now she has her father trying to call the shots. To make matters worse, her father is trying to remove her friends and the only family she has by replacing them. I like all the new complications- things get much more complicated when we find out who her father is and the memories she has of him from high school. Evie has known her father all along!...

Review: Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs, The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen, Until I Die by Amy Plum

Review: Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs, The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen, Until I Die by Amy Plum Review: Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs Medusa was not all the books said she was. She was a warrior and keeper of the gate that allows demons into the real world. Unfortunately, due to jealousy, her reputation was ruined and she was killed. Now her descendants are left to live in her place and fight the bad guys. Too bad only Gretchen knows what her fate is. Grace has just moved to San Francisco and into a unexpected life. This was a bit of mythology thrown into the paranormal setting. It was a fun read. The overall plot of the story was a fun read. It took me about 1/4 of the book to get into it,...

NetGalley Review: Alternity by Mari Mancusi

NetGalley Review: Alternity by Mari Mancusi Review: Alternity by Mari Mancusi Is she Skye or is she Mariah? Skye finds herself waking up in a weird underground city only to have no recollections of it. It turns out that everyone else remembers her, but she doesn’t remember this odd world or that she is part of the revolutionaries trying to overthrow it- or is she really? I liked that the main character’s identity didn’t change- she stayed true throughout holding onto that she did not have amnesia. I found it odd that she did not cave in, but by the end you know why. While Skye does win in the end, she does so without killing...
