Latest reads: Beautiful Monster by Bella Forest and Vamped by Lucine Driver

I guess this was vampire week….. I happened to read two very different vampires tales- both good reads and both very different from each other.   Beautiful Monster by Bella Forest Easy and fun read. This was a vampire story, but set at an acting school. I was a much different feel than many of the books I have read lately. The focus being on her acting and enjoying the new world she was in as much as her romance and Liam. Very well balanced tale- not completely about the supernatural. It was a fun change of pace. Forest writing is easy to follow and a nice flowing story. I would recommend...

Week’s Reads: The Dark Gifts Inheritance by Willow Cross and Souled Out by Blakely Chorpenning

Review: The Dark Gifts Inheritance by Willow Cross I read this book without reading the first book. I just want to let everyone know- this is part of a series but completely able to stand alone. You don’t need to read he first one to find this a great read. This is a great book because of that and I applaud Cross for such good writing. So the basic plot is that Sarah and her brother find they don’t exactly know their past every well. In fact they were actually hidden by their past and do not know about their family history of werewolves and have to deduce that her brother is one from what is going on....

Week’s Reads: Ethereal by Addison Moore, Poison Princess by Kresley Cole, Cheyenne by Lisa Weidmeier

Ethereal by Addison Moore Moving to a new town normally sucks, but it is worse if you move into a house where the previous resident was taken and murdered. This book was a very easy read and kept clicking along nicely. Nothing was too hard to follow or distracting. The writing style was nice and easy read. I found myself easily drawn into the tale and wanting to continue to read. I found some of the story overdone- some things in YA seem a bit cliché by now: moving to a new town…mean clique girl cheerleaders… guys so handsome the protag drools over them…not one but two good looking guys….. this book...

Review: Existence by Abbi Glines

Review: Existence by Abbi Glines Review: Existence by Abbi Glines Pagan sees souls and most of the time she ignores them- until one talks to her. Not only does he talk, he saves her life. What could Death want from her and can you really change your destiny?  I found this was an easy read and everything progressed fast enough to draw me in and keep me reading. I was completely drawn into the story. Sometimes when I read a book, it doesn’t get me hooked right away or it slows down and I get bored and start skimming it. This one did neither which was nice for a change. From the beginning, you find yourself immersed in a world and...

Review: Mayfair Moon by J.A. Redmerski

Review: Mayfair Moon by J.A. Redmerski Review : Mayfair Moon by J.A. Redmerski Adria and her sister Alex move to Maine to live with their uncle after an encounter with dueling werewolves that makes child services suspect their mother’s boyfriend for beating them. As they try to move on with their lives. Alex grows distant from the shock of it but Adria begins to befriend some strange residents in their new town. Suddenly she finds she is in the middle of a werewolf battle where humans are just casts off and she is in love with one. I like the characters or rather the wolves were all very nicely characterized. They were each distinct...
