So many books! Where do I start?

Begin Here

I’m very excited to hear from all the new fans who reach out to me every day. Your support and encouragement keep me writing and I am so thankful for every one of you.

I now have more than a few books available and people have been sending questions about where to begin. This page is intended as something of a guide and I will update it as new books are released.

First, I’d recommend signing up for my newsletter if you’re not already a subscriber. Once you do that you’ll get an email no more than once a month with exclusive sales that I only announce to subscribers and info about giveaways, new releases, and cover reveals.

After that, there are two major storylines to follow. If you are interested in YA paranormal in a world full of vampires, werewolves, faries, and other creatures, just start with “The Legend of the Blue Eyes”. It’s only $0.99 and it’s a great entry point that will introduce you to Arianna, Andrew, Devin, and the world of the creatures I collectively call “Night Humans”. From there you can continue to follow Arianna’s growth in “Becoming a Legend” and “Winning the Legend“, or you can skip ahead to “The Day Human Trilogy“, which follows Devin’s adventures in the fairy world of the Sidhe.

Carnelian by B. Kristin McMichaelIf you’re interested in a college romance with a paranormal twist, check out “Carnelian“. This is book one of The Chalcedony Chronicles and it begins like a NA contemporary, but you quickly learn that there’s more to the story, and the series develops into a time travel romance with light paranormal elements. I have written a post about what makes Carnelian a little different than some other YA/NA romance you may have read. Also, The Chalcedony Chronicles is clean NA, this is a series with college-aged protagonists and a story-driven plot that does discuss more mature topics. Book two, “Chrysoprase” is available now and book three, titled “Aventurine“, will be published in early February 2015.

To Stand Beside HerFinally, there’s my debut novel “To Stand Beside Her“. This is a bittersweet YA fantasy about a strong young woman who is afraid to open herself up to love. This is a standalone story that explores themes like love, loss, and fate. Since it’s my first novel it’s also the one that I’m self-conscious about and I don’t suggest that you read it first. Fair warning, this one has made people cry at the end.

My books are available at most online retailers, but I recommend that you buy them from Amazon.com since they do so much to help me promote my stories. You can read kindle books on almost any phone, tablet, or computer, so you don’t need a kindle device. If you enjoy a book by me, or by any author, the greatest gift that you can give is to leave a positive review. A review doesn’t even need to be extensive, just a couple of sentences about why you enjoyed the book is all it takes. We read all of them and are so thankful for your kind words. Also, if you maintain a blog or a review site, you can also sign up at Lexia Press to receive eArc and tour opportunities.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message through my contact form. In addition to writing, I am a mom to three kids, including a newborn, but I will try to get back to you right away.

Thank you so much for checking out my books!

-B. Kristin
