Interview with Cory Putman Oakes, author of The Veil

Interview with Cory Putman Oakes, author of The Veil This week I reviewed The Veil by Cory Putman Oakes and as a follow up here is a short interview with her that she so graciously was able to do with me. If you want to know more about Cory or her book The Veil visit her website, twitter, facebook and/or goodreads. I would classify your novel The Veil as fantasy- do you typically read fantasy also or do you like other genres? To the extent that I am able to find time to read these days – I have an almost-two-year-old – YA fantasy is definitely my favorite genre. My “To Read” pile is shamefully large, and it is mostly YA. Review: The Veil by Cory Putman Oakes

Review: The Veil by Cory Putman Oakes Review: The Veil by Cory Putman Oakes After seeing things that should not be there, Addy discovers that although she might not be crazy, as she had first thought, she might actually not be completely human. Soon she finds that even though it is great to have a explanation to her new insights, she might not actually be safe- since there is a law forbidding humans to see Annorasi. The characters I enjoyed the best were Gran and her ten burly men as that left a memorable image in my head....

The story Artemis Rising involves two different myths- Arthurian and Greek- which inspired you more when writing this story? Great question! I would have to say Tristan and Isolde captured my imagination the most. And that’s probably because there is simply more to that story. And one of the most interesting things about that legend is that the original story from...

Review: Artemis Rising by Cheri Lasota

Review: Artemis Rising by Cheri Lasota Review : Artemis Rising by Cheri Lasota Eva is heading home to the Azores Islands. Eva finds herself pulled into two different myths with two very different boys vying for her. Eva must choose which myth is stronger and hope she gets the outcome she is looking for. While the plot does not include a ton of physical action, there is more subtle action that drives the story forward. It progressed well throughout the book. It was easy to follow and enjoyable to read. I was a little confused the first time there was a dream sequence but then figured it out afterwards; I needed to reread it to better get...
