If I Should Die by Amy Plum and A Temptation of Angels by Michelle Zink

If I Should Die by Amy Plum

Returning to a tale where you know the characters is always great. Vincent is gone and Kate is trying to rescue him. My kind of hero- don’t wait for the guy to save you. Action packed like the previous books- it kept moving quickly throughout. I kind of guessed the champion during a previous book and was correct when they finally figured it out. With people who die and reanimate it was no surprise to get the happily ever after ending to such a fun tale.

A Temptation of Angels by Michelle Zink

I don’t really read steam punk and this book was along those lines, so it took me a little bit to get into it. You need to step outside your norm some times! I’m glad I kept going as it was a fun read. I liked all the characters and guessed who the keeper of the keys was early on (there wasn’t much mystery for me as there were only three left to choose from- so you have a 1 in 3 chance to just guess it). This book was an adventure with a mystery. Helen has no clue about her future, yet had to use it to help her survive. The brothers had to help as they knew more about what they were, but at the same time it was Helen that knew enough to discover how to win.
