Review: Night Marchers by Rebecca Gober and Courtney Nuckels

Review: Night Marchers by Rebecca Gober and Courtney Nuckels

Emma has been uprooted from her Texas home to follow her father (a paranormal investigator) to Hawaii. While there she meets two young men who catch her interest. The only problem is that one has been alive for hundreds of years and now is trapped.

This story was a bit slow off the bat, but it was enough to keep me interested and reading. It switched a bit from past to present as the author recalled events that lead to where the story started off. This was a bit distracting, but filled in the back story. I would have rather had less back story and more with the present day plot where the action picks up and keeps your interest throughout. This was an original story line compared to the normal YA fantasy right now that either consists of vampires/werewolves, angels, or faeries. It was refreshing and nice to read a story set in paradise. Hawaii was beautifully described.

This story seemed to lack some editing- probably copy editing would have helped greatly. The bad reviews thus far have been on the editing alone. That can be very distracting to some people, but not to me. There were no major issues that I found distracting, but people who are a stickler for correct grammar and comma usage will find it a hard read- which is too bad because it is a good story.

I would recommend this book to readas it is a free read. If you cannot stand to read stories that are not completely grammatically perfect, this is not for you.

Some people can be so critical. I read some reviews you received and thought they were just mean. Editing costs money and anyone reading self pub novels should know that most go and pub without having any money support to do it, but because they love to write and want to share with the world 🙂
Keep up the good work and nice story 🙂

  3. You are amazing, thank you so much. That means a lot to us. 🙂
