Review: Anathema by Megg Jensen Reychel has resigned herself to her fate as a slave. She will be branded and claimed to continue her existence in darkness as she is forbidden to look at the sky. She has known nothing but this fate since she was born. Quickly her eyes are opened to a different world as she is taken along with her best friend from the world of being a slave and she is forced into a new role in life. This book grabs you right off the start. You are pulled immediately into the story. Sometimes it takes a bit to get into the characters, but you instantly felt for Reychel in her situation....
Review : Rex Rising by Chrystalla Thoma Elei is running away and being tracked at every moment. Unfortunately, he has also been shot. Even more unfortunate, the two parasites that coexist in him are fighting for control. Elei must look to complete strangers to help him. Action is the best word to describe this book. Review: The Between by LJ Cohen Lydia finds out that she is a faerie – and a powerful one at that. Now both Oberon and Titania are trying to get her to join their side. While it would be easy to assume light is the good guys and shadow are the bad guys, things are always more complicated in faerie. While Russel is comfortable and charming, Reed is alluring and hiding answers Evie desperately seeks. As Evie changes, Reed reveals answers – or more so agrees with Evie’s new understanding. But nothing they can do will stop the predictions she has dreamed for months even before she went off to college. This was a well written story that progressed nicely.
